Our upcoming ‘Love’ coin was born out of a desire for a tangible and safe investment that also upheld our environmental ethics. Despite the struggling economy the value of gold has continued to rise and is therefore a solid investment for anyone tired of investing in pieces of paper.
Unlike most investment coins, the ‘LOVE’ coin is made of 100% PURE RECYCLED GOLD from Hoover and Strong.
Join a growing movement of people who are upholding their environmental ethics through their investment dollars. By purchasing the ‘LOVE’ coin you are making a statement about your beliefs.
As part of our commitment to making the world a better place for our children, 1% of profits of the ‘LOVE’ coin will be donated to NRDC, Natural Resources Defense Council.
Our upcoming ‘Love’ Coin is made of 100% RECYCLED GOLD from Hoover and Strong. This means that our clients can invest in our coin as precious metal bullion while remaining committed to their environmental ethics.
Unlike mass produced investment coins which are minted using high tech precision dies, our coin will be created using a much more ancient technique and each coin will have the feel of an ancient Greek coin. While no two coins will be exactly the shape shape, we guarantee that each coin will weigh exactly 1 troy ounce.
As we have not actually started production of the coin, here are the plasters which will be used to create the dies:

400BC ATHENA COIN
Here is an example of an ancient Greek coin, this one a Greek tetradrachm with the image of Athena on the front and the owl of wisdom on the back.
This coin has been a major inspiration for us. At the time that it was minted, Athena would have been considered their current deity. We felt that it would be lovely to produce a coin that didn’t have a deity, but an intention imbued into the coin. Our intention is harmony.
The way that these ancient coins were typically made, according to archeologists, is that a precise amount of metal would be melted on a flat surface that would make a ‘flan’ of metal that was arced on the top and flat on the bottom. This would be the result of heating the metal to a molten state and allowing it to instantly cool, which would allow gravity to create the shape. That made each piece of metal very consistent.
The image was then stamped by placing the ‘flan’ onto a hard bronze surface with one side of the design carved or incised into the surface. The die, acting as a punch for the top half, would be placed on top of the ‘flan’ and then the entire unit would be struck with enough force to coin the images onto the ‘flan’ thus coining the metal. A large pole would serve to create enough force, but we aren’t completely sure what, exactly, their minting technology looked like; we can only conjecture.
We are going to punch each of our ‘Love’ coins one a time, personally, in the same manner that the ancients used, but using a turn of the century 100 ton screw press.
Note that each coin’s circular natures vary as ours will. Our coin will not have a precision edge or be perfectly round as we are attempting to invoke the feel of these ancient coins that we love so much.
Please email us if you would like to be on our mailing list. We will keep you up to date about our progress on the coin.
Soon we will be begin taking pre-production orders which will allow you to lock in current market rate for coins produced in the future, even if the cost of gold has risen!

I cannot believe this article was made in seriousness. Is it April Fools Day or something like that?
